Default Durrani MAGNESIUM Wheels - GSXR, R6, CBR, ZX, Ducati

We have several BRAND NEW sets of Durrani MAGNESIUM motorcycle wheels for $495.00. This is for a PAIR which includes one FRONT and one REAR wheel. They're offered in standard widths of 17"x3.5" 17"x5.5" and come powder coated in standard black or black texture. By special request we can also coat them in white, gold, gun metal and thousands of other custom colors. DON'T DELAY, these wheels sell for $1500.00 - $1700.00 and the closest competitor sells for upwards of $3500.00.

The wheels can be used on pretty much any sport bike of this size using a 17"x3.5" and 17"x5.5" rim including: Suzuki GSXR, Kawasaki ZX6, Yamaha R6, Honda CBR, Ducati and Triumph. These wheels do not include hubs. You will need to procure hubs to fit your particular application. Any competent machine shop should be capable of doing this for you. Please find detailed wheel info below.

Heres a better look at the type of hub you need to have made. The wheel has 5 splines and the hub just slides over them and has a slight press fit. We can likely provide some CAD data and dimensions if needed

If you have any questions we can be reached at 313.369.2447 or e-mail at sales@ccperformance.com

Advantages gained by Durrani lightweight Magnesium wheels:

Relative 10-15 horsepower gain
8-10 lbs weight savings
Save 1.0-2.0 seconds per lap
Faster acceleration
Shorter stopping distance
Less rider fatigue during track sessions
Easier corner turn-in
Faster transitions on the track
Increased margin of safety, street and track

Note: We recommend a steering damper be installed due to higher steering sensitivity.

510 Series Overview

Durrani Racing Components 510 Series magnesium wheels are an affordable solution for motorcycle enthusiasts who are interested in improving the look and performance of their sportbike, and demand a quality and dependable bolt-on product that is safe for use on public roads and racetracks alike. Using the newest technology available, the dedicated team at Durrani Racing has developed the 510 Series magnesium wheel to take full advantage of the lightweight properties of magnesium. Whether you want to get maximum gains in every aspect of your bike’s performance, or customize the look of your bike to suit your personality, the Durrani Racing Components 510 Series magnesium wheel is your best choice.

Durrani magnesium wheels are powder-coated in any one of six standard color choices: Black, White, Red, Blue, Gunmetal, and Gold. Arriving complete with all bearings, internal spacers, hubs, and unique cush drive, all you need to do is swap your existing tires, external axle spacers, and rotors to the new wheels, purchase a rear sprocket that fits the Durrani cush drive (sold separately)… and you're ready to roll.

Why Replace Your Wheels?

Performance

Unlike making expensive engine and exhaust upgrades that increase horsepower and may adversely affect the reliability of your bike, reducing the weight will improve the handling and stopping ability, in addition to providing increased acceleration at any throttle position without the risk of reduced engine reliability. Taking ROTATING weight off your bike by installing lightweight Durrani magnesium wheels magnifies the performance gains by reducing the gyroscopic effect and moment of inertia created by spinning weight. Reducing wheel weight will also have a positive effect on fuel mileage, suspension action, and drivetrain life by reducing the workload on the engine, transmission, rear shock, and front forks.

Looks

Let’s face it; one of the biggest reasons for changing any part of your bike is to tailor the look to suit your personality. Whether you like the race-replica look, or you just want to make a striking change to the look of your bike, the wheels are one of the most noticed parts of any bike. The design and attention to detail of the Durrani Racing Components 510 Series wheel are an easy way to get noticed at bike night, or at the racetrack. You can choose one of our six standard colors: Black, White, Red, Blue, Gunmetal, and Gold, or for a small premium you can choose to have your wheels powder coated in any one of the dozens of other color choices we have available.

Safety

Replacing your heavier original equipment wheels with Durrani magnesium wheels can also add a level of safety to your riding experience. The improved cornering responsiveness and reduced braking distance that lighter weight wheels offer can make the difference between having an accident, and avoiding one.

Why Durrani Wheels?

New Technology

Center Core X-Ray - White spots would indicate internal porosity.

We use a revolutionary new magnesium manufacturing process known as Thixomolding to make our magnesium wheels. This semi-solid, hot forging-like process is a hybrid between forging and die casting with the best qualities of both: an internal grain structure similar to forging, and a finer surface detail than die casting. Thixomolding also resembles plastic injection molding, with the use of metal pellets in place of plastic pellets, in conjunction with argon gas to prevent magnesium oxidation. The high pressures and fast mold fill ensures virtually porosity-free wheels, as our X-ray analyses have demonstrated. A proprietary magnesium alloy was developed to provide excellent strength and more ductility than any known magnesium alloy - they are designed to bend before they fracture at the limit for maximum safety.

Innovation

One look at the Durrani Racing cush drive shows how our company is driven by innovation. By making the sprocket carrier and cush system one integrated unit, we are able to further reduce rotating weight over conventional designs and improve cush bushing life with added value vs. other aftermarket wheels.

Durability

The proprietary magnesium alloy we use allows Durrani magnesium wheels to withstand the abuse of public roads without the concerns normally associated with other magnesium wheels. These wheels are designed for “life of the bike” use.

Each Durrani magnesium wheel is first treated with a chemical conversion coating for outstanding corrosion resistance, then powder coated in one of six standard colors. Powder coating was chosen for its quality appearance, resistance to scratching or chipping, and maintenance free finish.

Value

Traditional forging requires more expensive multiple dies, and up to 47% of the very expensive material is scrap in the form of chips from machining left on the shop floor. Thixomolding has far less scrap, uses less expensive tooling, and is a faster manufacturing process which lowers costs. The result of this unique patented process is a wheel that is comparable to a forged magnesium wheel, but with the cost of a conventional cast aluminum wheel. You, the customer, are the beneficiary of this new approach to wheel manufacturing.

Dedication

At Durrani Racing Components, we are all motorcycle enthusiasts. As such, we are working toward improving the riding experience for all sportbike riders. We have devoted countless hours of research and development to creating solutions that allow us to offer highly desirable sportbike products with a level of quality that is second to none, at an affordable price. We do this because we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the industry as a whole.

Made in USA

We live in an era when record numbers of Americans are choosing to purchase goods that are made overseas because they are perceived to be more affordable. All Durrani Racing Components products are made in the USA. We are the only manufacturer of high performance magnesium wheels that offers American craftsmanship and quality in every item we engineer and produce.

any chance of getting the hub design from Durrani or contact info from his Hub manufacturer to see if possibly they have left over stock to sell off? I know the back story and I'm trying to figure out how much extra cost it's going to be to actually be able to use these

If you're wanting complete hubs / designs for a particular application, it doesn't exist. Durrani produced the hubs in house and only had designs for a couple applications. Beyond that, they were being reverse engineered based on application. Which is what you'd need to do going forward.

We have a hub for wheel to hub dimensions, which are pretty simple. To complete the set, you would then build backwards based on your current stack height / dimensions, etc. We've talked to a couple machinists and they estimate 100-200ish per hub for the first set. If building multiples it would be obviously be cheaper. If you throw a rock in Detroit, you can find a reputable machine shop.......

The wheels were made for the street / track, but thats up to you. The weight is 5.5 lbs for front and 6.4 lbs for rear without hubs. I think I saw 10.2 and 7.6 with hubs.

FYI, here is the backstory folks:

http://www.motorcycleaddicts.org/out...st-2009-a.html

I may still try and get a hold of S at Durrani to see if he happens to have hubs, or maybe the prints for my bike since I loaned him my rims TWICE for spec'ing.

Hmmmm, not so sure on that one. I know there was a Ducatti and a GSXR completed for testing. Not sure of any beyond that....

...and they have test fitted and mounted up to an '04 CBR600RR as well....

Does Durrani have any hubs machined? From my conversations with a guy there, the cush drive is set up using a GSXR style sprocket. The hub then needs to be machined for axle size and spacing requirements.???

Yes I believe they utilized a gsxr sprockets though, going forward you could do it any way you'd like. I don't believe there are any hubs machined for any application sitting around.

Great GOOGLY MOOGLY! Turbo, Mag wheels = rocketship not so friendly for hamfisted mortals.

Wheels should fit your bike.....you will just need to have the hub machined to your bikes specs.
