WEDNESDAY's BIKE NITES : 6-10 BIKE NITE TMCF organized bike nite ALL are welcome.. OPEN BIKE NITE

BW-3 Oregon on navarre Ave , close to WALMART

TSBR's bike nite of choice..
TSBR gets a perk back to help support the group from BW-3
Normally hook up there from 6:30 - 8:30 with post rides and pre meet spots.
Ending at headliners for a late nite hang out or more riding.

SATURDAY : STEAK AND SHAKE REYNOLDS gather from 9 -10 leave time = 10
THIS IS JUST A MEET SPOT, when final time is announced come early to eat if you want and ride. THIS IS NOT a bike not or anything like that, just a meet spot to hopefully grow in time as a place for bikes to gather / ride

11Am = MILDER ride, show up have some fun.. A more relaxed ride look for posted destinations Typically a better turnout at 11am rides

1pm = Spirited Ride

each ride is an open ride and ride stlyes will be anounced before hand
11 am ride is a milder speed ride
and
1pm is typicaly a more spirited ride
both are structured and both open to all
no one will be left behind for either and questions and tips will be given at both




IF ANYONE or ANY GROUP wants a re-occurring ride spot to be posted THIS is the thread to post it in as far as a set spot / time

In general the 11am rides have a better turn out, longer rides, more of a relaxed ride.. making sure no one is left behind, and people that show up that get to nutty are asked to limit it away from the larger group. Sunday at 11 am rides have been a much better . growing group since announcing it as a more relaxed pace ride.. Nothing wrong with having your fun, but perhaps in a more limited setting / smaller groups ( If 1 pm fits yer needs = KEWL )

Times , places dates set...

WEDNESDAY BW-3 6-10 ( 6:30 8:30 is the normal for most of us )
Saturdays Steak and Shake 9-10 .... 10 = Ride time , come early to eat
Sundays SONIC 11am = Mild Ride 1pm = less structured ride ( 11 am has better turn out, control, better received by the masses )

i wouldnt say the 1 p.m. is less structured,its just way faster..if ya cant, or are afraid to hang, it doesnt mean its less structured... it means ya belong in the 11a.m. group on your sportbikecruisers(yes thats one word lol) where ya feel comfortable....not knock'n anybody.. i just didnt like the less structured part...

Dont really know what to call it...

By less structured I mean people get dropped way more often.. rarely do peeps post hey lets ride here on the 1pm ride

11 am rides get more peeps, rarely drop anyone, peeps post a destination more often , and sometimes rides are " LEAD " where you ride behind the guide to a destination ( like belle isle )



I think the key thing is to advertise truthfully.. 11 am normally gets about twice the riders, so some come just because there are more people, next thing you know a few cause trouble by getting to nutty..


Theres a time and place for everything.. If we say were not going to drop anyone, keep our word keep an eye out for new guys etc etc.

we never dropped anyone at the 1 p.m. ride(unless they were like totally slow and lost the whole group because there 8 miles back run'n 55 m.p.h.) and we always waited/wait at the next stop sign for peeps to catch up.. and as far as more peeps at the 11a.m. one.. theres just more peeps on here that dont like to or cant ride hard than do... and there was always a set destination on the 1 p.m. ride also.. its the same routes everytime..64/65 or 105 lol..

thats how i always remember doing it if people fall behind cause they cant ride as fast as some others( not making fun please dont take it as that) we always wait at the next stop sign or what not to make sure all are accounted for! i totally like the structured rides at 11 cause i do like riding as the group but u still gotta get out with a group and hang it open too!

Im trying to be subtle. Im also trying to help people show up more at 1pm also, just let them know there might be a little more play time..

I have zero problem with full on play , if thats what peeps know there showing up for.. PLEASE dont mis-understand. Its just they need to know what to expect a bit more

the only way you will get better is practice and learn with people who have been doing it awhile and know what they are doing. but on the other hand i mean i havent been out with you guys yet on these 1pm rides but i get the feeling from this post that maybe few people complanied maybe or didnt like the idea of not sticking with others(like i said i dont know just seems like that). i mean you kind of have to expect that coming into the ride though shouldnt ya? i dont know just my opinion but anyways look foward to coming out.

i think everyone should just come out to the 11 am and the 1 pm and see witch one they like i will come to both to find out for myself and what could be better that to ride with a good group of guys all day thats what it should be about ....

one reason i go to the 11am ride is because i have to go to work early on sun.

I think they just want less experienced people who show up for the 1pm not to be pressured to keep up and an have or cause an accident. So yes you can ride at either one but 11pm wont be a wild pressing your limits ride, and while 1pm people will be riding pretty hard you dont have to stay up or be left lost in the country because people will wait for you.

Perdy much right on the head..

The 1Pm rides used to be the standard time.. ONLY 1 pm..

The problem was it was to mixed.

So at the winter meeting for TSBR 2 years ago , there was a vote to change to 2 start times.. Quickly the 11am ride became the better attended of the two... I think for 2 reasons


1 Its sort of the " official / recognized " time of choice

2 For the most part 11am kept its word to tone it down


The most imortat thing in all of this is that we just ride as advertised.


(((( NOTE MOST of the 11am Sunday rides go to a certain point and end few are round trip, so the way back also provides an opportunity for guys to go play, this has worked out great as its controlled on the way out, if you want to play you know the way back.. If you dont know the way back make sure you ask someone and cruise back with them ))))

Some rides are round trip / longer such as belle isle and maybe a ride up to Ann arbor this year.

Here is the way I see it (and yes, since 2006 things have changed) I went on a 1pm ride when I first got my Katana because I was not told about there being an 11am ride. The whole group took off leaving me an inexperienced rider by themselves and it took me nearly 30 minutes to get to where they had stopped to take a break because I was not comfortable at the time trying to pass a bunch of cars.

I will NEVER go on a 1pm ride again. If I wanted to go out and ride like the people did that day then I'll go by myself. I don't ever want a person, member or not to feel the way I did then.
